I found out the morning of July 30, and promptly woke Matt up to tell him. Needless to say, he was excited!
I'd had some hints that Baby Rodgers was coming - nausea, soreness, and just feeling wiped out. But of course that is all worth it when you find out Baby is the reason!
We decided to wait until our first doctor's visit before telling anyone - just to make sure Baby was healthy, and to confirm the due date. So that brings us to today, August 19, 2014. We've visited the doctor - Mom and Baby are both healthy - and we got to see our little one for the first time! Our due date was confirmed as April 7, 2015 which means we are exactly 7 weeks along! And of course, we're going to share baby's growth process with you, so here it goes!
Baby is roughly the size of a blueberry, so of course, Baby is not showing yet. However, we got a sneak peek inside to see our little one :)
Baby is busy growing brain cells at the rate of 100 cells per minute! Baby is also growing a mouth, tongue, arms, and legs. The kidneys are already developed! The most exciting thing about seeing Baby though, was getting to see the heartbeat! So small, and yet so full of life!
As Matt and I were reflecting on Baby's first 7 weeks, we realized that Baby has already experienced what life will be like as a Rodgers' in many ways. Baby has already been camping, played soccer (Mom was careful!), gone to a family reunion, traveled in four states, and gone to Summer School (we had to get Baby jump-started to be in 3rd grade this year)! We can't wait until next year when everyone can enjoy Baby at all of these events, but until then, you can enjoy watching Baby grow with us!
