On President's Day, we spent the morning at the Discovery Museum driving the recycling truck, visiting the dinosaurs, watching the animals, and participating in some fun experiments. We also got in some snow and icicle play in the backyard. Dad had a couple of evenings off as well so we got to spend some much needed time with him making paper airplanes and building tower cities. These boys sure do miss their Dad when he has to work a lot!
This Valentine's Day our hearts are definitely full with our growing and healthy family! Besides the treats that come with Valentine's Day, we have a lot to be thankful for in our family. On Monday, we had another healthy Baby check-up. Baby is still a mover (the Dr. has to chase Baby to get a heartbeat!) and has a heartbeat around 155 BPM. I'm feeling great in this wonderful second trimester as well! In fact, my nesting is ready to just pack this house up and move now... but I'm told it's a bit early still, lol. On Tuesday, Ezra had his 2 year check-up and checked out out very healthy, of course. Just like Micah, his growth percentages have settled around the 50th percentile for height and weight (even though I think he seems like a tall 2 year old!). He measured in at 34 inches tall and 26.4 pounds. We spent the rest of the week playing with friends and having a fun fondue night!

On Friday, Grandma came for the weekend to celebrate Aunt Meredith's and Ezra's birthdays. We took her to Aullwood Nature and Farm Center on Saturday morning to check out all of the exhibits and animals while Dad got some sleep in. The boys are professionals at giving tours of the farm now, so they were ready to show Grandma all the animals. On Sunday, Aunt Meredith came after church and we had a dual birthday celebration. Ezra loves having a birthday buddy and is now a pro at how the whole birthday thing works: "I'm ready for my cake now," or "It's time to open my presents!" haha! It was a fun weekend and we were sad when everyone had to head home. Hopefully next time we get to see the rest of the family! Thanks everyone for making Ezra's birthdays such fun!
It's birthday week! The first weekend of February, Nana and Grandad came for the weekend to celebrate Ezra turning 2! It was a snowy, cold weekend but we got out for some fun in the snow (hiking in Huffman Metropark), had an early dinosaur themed birthday celebration, opened presents of course, went to church, and watched the Super Bowl. The boys got to stay up for the first half of the Super Bowl, but headed to bed during halftime. Ezra was loving all of the attention and cake (of course, this kid seriously loves food).
Ezra's actual birthday was Thursday, February 7. Dad was able to get the day off and he planned a special outing for everyone to EnterTRAINment Junction to celebrate. We got to tour the world's largest model train setup, eat pizza for lunch, climb through the train themed climbing structure, and ride on Thomas! We all had an absolute blast! The model train setup was insanely cool and they had Thomas characters and dinosaurs hidden among the scenery (along with a lot of other things) that the boys had fun looking for. And SO MANY TRAINS! The scenes were interactive so the boys could press buttons to make different trains and other parts of the setups move or make noise. Both boys fell asleep on the way home, but we had to wake them up to finish the party at home. Dinner and cupcakes followed by a present from us rounded out the day. Micah shared Dad and I's sentiments and went around all day telling Ezra, "Buddy, I can't believe you're 2!" haha! |
