To fill up our time, Micah and I have been packing for our trip to Pittsburgh to see his cousins, Seth and Jack, and his aunt and uncle (Matt will be going to Colorado to get some hiking in). We also got together with our Mom's and Baby's group again to talk cloth diapering, baby wearing, our children, and our lives in general. Micah had a great time looking at all the babies and came home rather exhausted.
In Micah updates: Micah is ever changing and growing! He has started to sleep from about 8 PM until 4:30-5 AM without getting up to eat, which has been a real treat for my sleep schedule! However, the catch is you have to swaddle him TIGHT. Our little Houdini is very quickly learning how to wiggle out of his swaddles, which means he wakes himself up with his flailing arms. So we've been fighting that battle along with his new-found love of fighting afternoon naps. According to the Rodgers, this is a trait he inherited from Matt, and it has been such a joy to convince him that when he can't keep his eyes open anymore, it's time to sleep! But in reality, he is a delight to have around the rest of the time. He is getting better and better at standing, sitting, grabbing things, and talking/screeching. We think he finally realized his voice has various volumes, and he is certainly practicing exercising them! His favorite activity though is still bath time. He will sit in his tub for 30 minutes and kick, squeal, and splash. He doesn't even seem to mind the water getting cold; so cute! He has also decided he is big enough to join us at dinner every evening, and likes to pound on the table or his high chair with his fists in excitement at the food. We're pretty sure he'd eat some if we let him!
