The evening before Baby's due date we decided to go check out the City Park in Pueblo (might as well party before Baby comes, right?) because they are known for having kids rides during the summer for 25 cents a ride. It was so much fun! They have a small scale train that you can ride, an extremely old wooden carousel in beautiful condition, and many other mini-rides only for young children. The boys LOVED it. We will definitely be going back before they close for the season!
While we've been exploring the nearby things to do, we have also been acclimating to the weather here. Apparently, the summer is the rainy season, and while it is very hot and sunny during the day, each evening typically brings wind and rain and/or a storm along with the cooler temperatures the desert is known for having at night. Heavy rainstorms cause instant flash flooding, which was a little scary the first time we witnessed it, as our street becomes a fast flowing river! The lightning here is pretty incredible though, and we didn't expect to have so much rain here in Pueblo, so we've been enjoying it!
