For Thanksgiving Matt's family decided to spend a few days in a cabin near Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Resort Park. We arrived the day before Thanksgiving and spent the afternoon exploring around our cabin. On Thanksgiving morning we drove to Natural Bridge State Resort Park and hiked a a little over a mile up to the beautiful Natural Bridge that the park is named for. You could hike across it, which was really cool and of course all of the rocks and stairs were a blast for the boys. After our morning hiking we went back to the cabin for food, games, and relaxation. On Friday morning, Trent, Matt, and a friend of Trent's went climbing while the rest of us checked out Hidden Arch (a much smaller arch tucked into a cliffside). It was a beautiful day and we got the place to ourselves for the hike. After the hike and a much needed nap time, Grandpa and the boys made a fire outside the cabin where we enjoyed dinner, s'mores, and, after it got dark, a special log that made our fire colorful! We couldn't have asked for better weather to enjoy the outdoors at the end of November. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the fun Thanksgiving!

The second weekend of November found us on yet another road trip, this time to Virginia! Every year my Dad takes my Grandma Judy to Floyd, Virginia where Grandaddy Bill grew up and is buried. Occasionally, Grandma Judy can't make it and sometimes Nana or I join. This year we all went and had such a good time hanging out together. We stayed right in Floyd where you can walk to everything you need, which was a lot of fun for the boys. The hardware store and the country store were favorites! The cemetery is right on the edge of town so we visited daily, ate at the local restaurants, visited family, attended a music class for kids, day-tripped to Blacksburg, VA to visit our favorite toy store, and climbed Buffalo Mountain (another family tradition). The weather was a bit chilly for our visit to Floyd, but we made the best of it! Ezra is still Mr. Independent, and Micah is still a crazy climber, but he boys were absolute troopers for everything, including the car trip. I'm not sure when we'll be back to Floyd again, so I'm so thankful we got to go this year!
After spending time with Daddy on his day off, the boys and I drove to Pittsburgh for a long weekend to hang out with our favorite cousins and of course the rest of the family there too! We played games, drove their battery-powered jeep, went to the park and conservatory, and the cousins even had a sleepover! The boys had a blast together and quickly got each other up to date on teaching each other new tricks. I even got to go to school with Jack for a few minutes, which I loved. And the cousin love... so cute! Ezra and Jack were hugging... Seth and Micah... the four Musketeers!
