Thus far, Micah has been a model baby. He quickly settled into his own routine, and sticks to it pretty well. He sleeps in 3-4 hour chunks at night, waking up just long enough to eat in between before going right back to sleep. And then during the day he sleeps in 2-3 hour chunks, and wakes up to eat and play in between. He isn't startled by much, so we can vacuum and do about anything else while he sleeps. Currently, for the short time he is awake, he loves to look at contrasts around the house, listen to books being read, hit soft toys around on his mat, and practice lifting his head during tummy time. He is also a professional at making faces. His dad and I enjoy just watching him take in the world - making all kinds of faces as he does.
On Friday, Matt and I took him to his 2 week check-up, where we were informed that Micah was doing great. He weighs 8 lb 3 oz, has a 36 cm head circumference, and is 21.5 in long. That means he is in the 50th percentile for weight, 50th percentile for head circumference, and 85th percentile for length. So to no ones surprise, it appears we are going to have a tall, thin baby! Micah also lost his umbilical cord on Friday, which meant we could finally give him a real bath! Micah enjoyed his tub time, and just laid in his warm water and took it all in. Finally, we decided to start introducing bottles occasionally, so Dad got to feed him his very first bottle... after Mom figured out how to use the pump!
