On Wednesday morning we drove down to Chicago to catch our flight to Philadelphia. We were shocked by how little traffic and congestion there was on Wednesday morning compared with our usual drive through Chicago on Wednesday evening. We got to the airport in plenty of time, got to our gate quickly, and ended up having to sit around for a couple of hours waiting for our flight due to the lack of delays. Micah was already a pro flyer, so he was unphased by all the excitement. He did enjoy getting to sit on Matt's lap for lunch though.
Since there was extra room on the plane, we were able to bring Micah's car seat onto the plane with us. He got the prime window seat and was very easy-going on the flight. Once in Philadelphia, we met my parents (who flew in at the same time), rented a car, and drove to New Jersey to meet LOTS of family that Micah had yet to meet, including Uncle Alex and several great aunts, uncles, and cousins..
We spent Thanksgiving hanging out with all of the family, and then Friday was spent prepping for and attending my cousins's wedding at the gorgeous Liberty House (with a stunning view of NYC as it's backdrop). And yes, Micah attending his first wedding in a little sweater vest. He even danced on the dance floor! Saturday we headed into NYC for a few hours to walk around and let Micah explore the largest city in his 11th state that he has visited. He had a blast just watching all the hustle and bustle from the safety of his Ergo carrier.
Sunday brought our adventures to a close with a bang; we woke up at 3 AM to drive to the airport, return the rental car, take a shuttle to the airport terminal, and hang out at the gate before our flight. We had landed in Chicago by 9:30 AM and drove to Indiana to meet Matt's grandparents for lunch. Then it was back to Wisconsin, unpacking, and prepping for a full week! Poor Micah was completely tuckered out after such a long day. And it was no wonder - he had visited 6 states in the course of 4 days (Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York)!
