In the midst of all of this, Micah has started to walk fluently on his own, imitate lots of word sounds ("socks" are "s-o..." and "shoes" are "sh-u..."), say "dada" really well, follow basic directions sometimes ("follow me", "put that in here", "stop", "open", "close"), stack blocks, and read books in a language all his own. Additionally, he has developed a love of balls, specifically if Dad is playing with them. He loves to watch Matt play basketball (he belly laughs when the ball bounces). He also loves to bounce/roll a ball back and forth with Matt and I. This also usually brings belly laughs when the ball bounces. It's so funny!
He went in for his one year check-up and got his stat updates: Weight - 20 lb, 13 oz (38th percentile), Height - 31.5" (93rd percentile), Head Circumference - 17.8" (24th percentile). Due to all of this growth, Micah has started to eat a ton. He absolutely loves food and will eat until you cut him off, or he has eaten as much as I have! Fruit and yogurt still remain his favorites.
Micah also got to experience his first baseball game - the Brewers vs. the Angels. He was so fascinated with everything that he refused to sleep, so we left during the 7th inning to get him to bed by 10 PM!!! He was definitely a little tired the next day! He also went on an 8 mile hike with us for Mother's Day and had a blast. He hiked about 1/4 mile and then rode on my back the rest waving a stick, sleeping, or just looking around. He also enjoyed exercising his new found walking skills during breaks by walking as fast as he could in circles around us and playing in the dirt.
