After Krista left, Micah and I painted one of the pumpkins we have (hoping to carve the other). He took it very seriously (note the serious face below) but was pleased with his work when done. Grandma Rodgers came to visit next, but sadly I took no pictures :( It was rainy for most of her stay, so we played a lot inside and Micah and her got to hang out while I went to my OB check-up where everything looks good. In between showers, we did get out for little walks, and Micah particularly enjoys pushing his mower through puddles while we walk around the neighborhood. A few neighbors like to stop and thank him for mowing as well. I mean, he is the cutest little yard worker ever...
Finally, Dad does have a little more free time this rotation, so Micah has gotten to spend a little more Daddy/Son time with him. We discovered one of Micah's pairs of pants looks remarkably like scrubs, so they got to dress alike one day. Then after the rain moved through, we had a beautiful windy day that was perfect for flying a kite. Micah really got into it once Matt showed him what a kite was and what you did with it. Though he really just thought it was hilarious to let the kite go so Daddy had to chase the string down!
Micah is getting more adventurous as he gets older; he climbs on more now and wanders further down the street on his own (he'd probably take a walk all by himself if I let him). He has also gotten into dancing (his cousin finally got him into it) and likes to dance to most little jingles he hears, no matter what he was doing before. He also learns words and phrases super fast. He learned to say "kite" and "cool" and used them many times just in the hour we were out flying the "cool kite". Not to mention he is starting to mimic things he sees... like he knows how to turn the door knobs and can almost reach to unlock the outer doors to our house now! But his new coordination and mimicking is also helpful when he wants to help in the kitchen with measuring out ingredients and putting things away after use. Of course his height is also becoming a problem because he can now reach more. My silverware drawer will soon be in danger.... Basically, it's crazy how fast things change around here and we are just loving the ride of learning about Micah as he grows and getting to learn about our new little one as we feel more movement too!
