The boys also started swim lessons this month which has been an event, that is for sure. I get in with Ezra and help him through his class which goes pretty well except that Ezra hates getting out of the water when it is time to... Micah's in a class with a swim instructor and no mom for the first time and that has proven to be a challenge. He has cried for the first 2 classes (the entire class) and hasn't wanted to even be in the water. The instructor is great, and after talking to Micah we are going to try goggles next class to see if that makes him more comfortable. As you can see from the pictures below, we have been practicing with them, and they have been a hit!
In other updates, Micah is Mr. Speedy on the bike now and could easily ride a 2 wheel bike if we got him one. It's so fun to see him having such a good time and riding around the neighborhood with Matt. Vehicles of all kinds are still Micah's favorite, and he spends hours playing with them and reading about them each day. Micah continues to be Mr. Inquisitive as well and pretty much follows up all statements made to him with "why?". He has also recently decided to be a parrot and now repeats all things said to him, typically with the repeated information being directed at Ezra... since apparently Ezra needs to hear the directions from me and Micah (poor Ezra). And the best part about Micah currently has got to be his singing. He loves to sing songs that we have sung during the day, but if he can't remember how it goes exactly he just makes up the words or inserts sounds. It's pretty fabulous to listen to, lol.
Ezra is a mimicking machine. He has picked up the balance bike in no time, and he can now count to 10 without help thanks to Micah's continued repetition of counting all day long. Ezra is, of course, a big boy now and can do all things "by self", except of course when he chooses not to and wants "mamas" to do it (yep, I'm called "mamas" all day except when he's really upset and then I'm "mommyyyyy"). Ezra is really into farm animals and the sounds they make so we talk about that a lot and have been to visit the farm a few times as well. And if Micah is the singer of our family, Ezra is the dancer. He tells me daily, "songs! I wanna dance!" which is my cue to turn on music, lol.
Both boys have been enjoying the play kitchen a lot recently and making food for picnics. They typically get along well, except when they don't and it's mass screaming throughout the house. Micah and Ezra both like things done their way in particular circumstances and it's been a struggle to learn to compromise through those. Both boys have also been enjoying the library a lot. Story time is something we have gone to for a long time, but they are both finally into it and have a lot of fun. They also love to pick out books at the library now too, and our daily reading time has picked up.
