Despite his sleep strike, Micah has continued to grow and develop even more over the course of the week! He has learned to jump, which has consequently led to him trying to lunge out of Matt and I's arms as well (so all of the family coming to visit in the next month better be on their toes!). He is continuing to talk, stand, sit, and practices rolling over (with help). He has also started chewing on EVERYTHING. Literally. Cheeks, necks, shoulders, fingers, arms, anything you put in front of him. We started giving him frozen wash clothes and his frozen chew toy and he loves those as well. Possibly early teether? We'll find out soon enough. In the meantime, we'll hope we can get this kid to like sleep!
Well, this week marked our first full week home in a long time. The timing couldn't have been more perfect because Micah is quickly approaching 4 months of age and it has become increasingly obvious that his sleep cycles are changing. Due to all of the travel we have been doing, Micah's nap schedule has been non-existent, and overtiredness was starting to show through. Micah had started waking up 3 or more times a night (seems counter-intuitive, but it is a sign of being overtired) and was sleeping very little during the day. So this week marks the start of our journey into a sleep schedule. We decided to begin with nights first, and after consulting "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" decided to start putting him to bed earlier - 6:45 PM to be exact. Well it worked like a charm for 2 nights... and then he began waking up again. We bumped it up to 6 PM, and that again worked, but it has become clear that we need to get the naps in there, no matter how much he protests them (we DO put him down for naps... he just won't stay asleep long). So that is a work in progress and will continue into next week. But as a result of Micah's irregular sleep and Matt's intense work schedule this week, we have had a rather sleep deprived week overall. Which, I'm sorry to report, has led to few pictures.

Micah, sounds just like my babies; little sleep at first.

Some of this sounds a lot like Matt when he was an infant.
