Day 1 we drove from Pueblo to Grand Junction, CO with a longer stop at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The canyon was crazy deep and very beautiful. Day 2 we drove through Utah, passing through Capital Reef and Zion National Parks, both of which Matt and I have been to before, but of course it was the kids' first time. Day 3 we drove through the Valley of Fire, where the boys would have spent the whole day crawling in and out of holes in the rocks if we had let them, before finally arriving at the Wainman house. Everyone was very ready to be out of the car by the time we arrived and the cousins were thrilled to see each other. Let the week of fun begin!
Grandad and Grandma Pat were planning to road trip back to California to see Alex, who was coming in from Europe, and stay at the Wainman house a bit longer. I decided to join them with the kids (Matt had to work) and so Grandad and I planned out a three day roadtrip to California without really knowing what to expect... It went about how you would think a road trip with three under the age of five would go, a bit rocky but we had some fun too. We stopped at parks each day and broke the trip up as best we could.
