Our little family has officially been on our own for a whole week. No friends or family staying with us, just the 3 of us adjusting to our new family routine. And I think we've adjusted quite well. Micah and I hang out either at home or run errands during the day. Then in the evening when Matt comes home, Micah and Dad have their boy time while Mom gets to do all the things she didn't get done with a baby during the day. Micah has been really good about getting in his own routine for sleep, and sleeps in fairly predictable 3-4 hour chunks during the night - though he does occasionally try to socialize at 4 AM, and I have to remind him that it is time to SLEEP. While we may not have family or friends staying with us, we have spent a lot of time with friends this week - grilling, pizza and game night, visits to the park, and just hang-out nights. We had a couple of 80 degree days that finally brought out the cute short outfits I have for Micah to wear... though the 50 degree weather came back quickly. I also got to celebrate my first Mother's Day as a mother. My boys made it very special. We took Micah to church for the first time, went out to lunch and frozen yogurt, and then Matt made me dinner at home. Micah seemed to know he was supposed to be extra nice to me, because he slept through church and the lunch out (so it was like a grown-up date!) and he hung out very contentedly for Matt and I's dinner at home. Finally, Micah turned a month old this week! That means we got to go for his 1 month check-up and his Hepatitis B shot. Our "little" guy is growing at a very quick rate! In the last 2 weeks since his previous appointment he gained over 2 pounds and grew over an inch! He is now 10 pounds 6 ounces, 22.75 inches long, and has a head circumference of 37 cm. That puts him the in the 60th percentile for weight, 92nd for height, and 36th for head circumference. I guess this explains why I had to pack up all his newborn outfits this week... and why he suddenly fits in his cloth diapers! That's right, he's officially a cloth diaper baby, and loving them! I just can't believe how quickly my little boy is growing!
