We're having trouble believing how big our "little" boy has gotten! Matt and I comment every day how big his hands and feet are getting, how tall he is... you get the picture. The time has just gone so fast. It doesn't help that he acts so much older than he is too. Despite being 5 weeks old, he rolls over all the time (always from belly to back), tries to crawl continuously (and manages to move a few inches and rotate himself 90 degrees on the carpet), practices standing when he can get help, and loves to imitate faces made by Matt and I (especially smiles). And his preferences are showing through too! He loves to be clean, so bath time, diaper changes, and changing his clothes are all super fun and earn the bearer of these events large smiles (on the flip side he will let anyone who lets him get too dirty know with loud screams). He loves motion, so being bounced or moved up and down always calms him down. He also enjoys music, listening to books before bed, looking in the mirror, and staying cool. Being too hot results in a loud meltdown of protest - as demonstrated on several occasions this week when around 80 degrees (I don't think he'd survive anything warmer the way he acts like he is going to melt). I'm also super excited because Micah will now put himself to sleep when laid down drowsy at bedtime and after his nighttime feedings, resulting in more sleep for mom who doesn't have to rock him to sleep after each feeding! Despite being very busy with growing, Micah has been able to keep a very busy social schedule with Matt and I too. In fact, he's quite the trooper at tagging along with whatever we have going on. This past weekend, we had a friend come up to visit, and Micah went out to eat a couple of times with us, learned to play Risk, and watched a game of disc golf. Then many of our friends up here graduated and we have been celebrating with them a few last times before they move to their new residency locations. Micah especially seems to enjoy being outside in the warm weather with our friends, as long as there is a cool breeze and some shade of course. Finally he came to Bible Study with us and stayed awake the whole time - so many new things to look at! He is definitely a curious little guy!
