Nana and Grandad came the weekend before Ezra's birthday to celebrate Round 1 of birthday festivities. We got to have a unique breakfast birthday with cake due to Matt's schedule which started the weekend off on a great note, because who doesn't love cake? The rest of the weekend was spent playing with new toys and getting lots of grandparent love.
We awoke to 4-5 inches of snow on Ezra's actual birthday, so before we could get out to get some cupcakes for our small little family celebration, we had to first get the driveway cleared off. Micah was my big helper while Ezra napped in the morning. He even took it a step further and mowed after we cleared the snow! We also had a cool experience with the snow plow that came to clear our neighborhood. The guy driving took a liking to Micah out working and honked each time he drove by and then was kind enough to come clear all the piled up snow at the base of the drive from the plow going by clearing the road. Talk about an up close view of the snow plow!
Ezra had is one year check-up the day after his birthday and checked in at 21 lb, 10 oz (60th percentile) and 30 3/4 inches tall (85th percentile). He's checking out with all of his milestones!
Micah has struggled a little over the last week with so much attention on Ezra, though he did make the banner for Ezra's birthday with a little help from me! Let's just say Ezra's toys are also Micah's toys now ;) Micah's imagination has taken off over the last week, and his current favorite imagining game is to pretend to be the pilot of the airplane that Ezra and I are riding in. Ezra and I get put in charge of providing snacks during the flight. Micah also likes playing "chase" with Ezra. Micah rides his tricycle around our house while Ezra pushes his push walker. They're pretty cute!
