Many of you have been asking for an update on Micah and the tooth that appeared to be coming in ages ago.... well it finally broke through! Micah officially has a first tooth! It's perfect timing with his starting of solids because he can now bite into things a little easier. Speaking of food, Micah has been chowing down on a little bit of everything lately - banana, yogurt, strawberries, kiwi, apple, pears, bell peppers, carrots, broccoli, green beans, eggs, cheese, pasta, turkey, chicken, hamburger, and steak. He appears to enjoy everything he eats, but seems to particularly like pears (he loves sucking the juice) and yogurt. Micah is also starting to drink a little water from a sippy cup during meals. In other milestones, Micah officially learned to sit all on his own this week. It's been kind of nice to just be able to plop him down and walk away without fear of him falling (or not usually...). He also discovered his feet and how fun it is to put them in his mouth (especially during diaper changes... let the changing struggles begin!). The most fun thing about this week though his that he has really started laughing at all kinds of silly things. It's so nice to come home and hear his laugh every evening - whether he be laughing because you're tickling him, because he thinks your hiccups are funny, or because you made a funny sound.
In family news, Micah and I have been spending more quality time together as Matt travels for interviews for medical school. So we used it this weekend to swing in the garage and shop on Saturday while it poured rain outside (we skipped dressing up for Halloween), and on Sunday we went to church and walked around the park in the gorgeous fall weather. We also began our adjustment to the time change (Micah "adjusted" by waking up at 4 AM for the day on Sunday morning). It might take a while...
