Micah, of course, loved it. He was outside all day long, which is his favorite place to be. We hiked, played at the campsite, ate lots of food, and visited an old school house in the park. I was a little worried about sleeping in a tent with so many noises (especially busy Memorial Day weekend), but it turns out that by the time 6:30 PM rolled around, Micah was so tired he'd just go right to sleep. It probably helped that I brought his sound machine and a fan to help drown out the noise. Now he really didn't take naps, except short ones on my back while hiking, and that definitely showed when we got home and he was just a bit sleep deprived. But we had a blast and can't wait to go again this summer with Dad!
In the midst of all of the packing and moving preparation, Matt had already planned to take a break and go out West with his brother to do some hiking before residency started. Since I am still working, I decided to take advantage of the long Memorial Day weekend to give Micah his first camping experience (Matt and I had hoped to take him together a few weeks earlier, but bad weather kept us from going). My parents joined us at Weldon Springs State Park for a two night, 3 day camping trip.

It is so wonderful to see and read about the adventures of our great-grandson and to see that he is so well loved and cared for!
