Grandma Pat and I took advantage of Micah's naps to paint some numbers for Micah's play room so that he could have a number wall as well. He is now a big fan of both walls (alphabet and number) and I have the pleasure of reading/singing them aloud many times a day.
Every other year, the weekend closest to 4th of July is spent with my Dad's extended side of the family. We have a cook out on Saturday evening and a big potluck lunch Sunday afternoon in Stilesville, IN. This was Micah's first year to attend, and he definitely enjoyed himself. The fact that there is a ton of food is of course an instant winner with our bottomless pit son. He got to try out a trampoline for the first time, which he thought was fantastic. He went on his first hayride.... but fell asleep right away from all the excitement, haha. He also fell in love with the game of cornhole.... mostly because he loved to put the bean bags through the hole. He of course made a few friends along the way too, seeing as he's so handsome and polite. We brought my Grandma Pat home with us after the reunion so that she could spend some more time with us and Micah. Since we live in Dayton now, we thought that taking her to the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum was a must-do. It was Matt's first time going as well (Micah and I went once before). Matt was especially enthralled with all of the stealth bombers that you got to see up close, and spent some time showing Micah those. We only saw about 1/3 of the museum though, as it is so big!

It's super wonderful to get updates on "The Rodgers Clan" seeing and reading about the happenings in the lives of Micah, Allison, and Matthew! (G'Gma R. is mailing a new "Dick and Jane" book to Micah today.)
