Second week of vacation! This week brought us to Door County, WI to spend the week in a house that we rented with Matt's parents and sisters in Egg Harbor. We spent the week relaxing and visiting the sights in the area. This included going to the beach (first beach experience, and he loved the water!), hiking in Whitefish Dunes State Park, hiking in Peninsula State Park, visiting Fish Creek and Egg Harbor to walk around and look in the shops, making s'mores, and attending his first outdoor concert! He loved getting to see his grandparents and aunts for the week, and he definitely loved the attention!
In the midst of all the traveling, Micah is still learning and growing! He is definitely getting more vocal (both the volume, and what he says). Sometimes it seems like he is actually answering my questions or trying to contribute to the conversation, but I'm not smart enough to know what he is saying! He is loving books more and more, and we can tell he recognizes stories and knows to look at the pages as we read. He is also getting stronger with his standing and more stable with his sitting. In addition, he has started to roll on his side to sleep, so we began the process of transitioning him out of his swaddle. He found his thumb and now chews on it (and slobbers enormous amounts!) frequently. He also loves to chew on about anything else he can put in his mouth. Finally, he shows a lot of interest in food and smells; we have to keep him from grabbing stuff from our plates!
