After lunch the boys got to ride on a carousel for the first time with Grandma on the same carousel her boys (Matt and Trent) used to ride on when they were little boys in Indy. Riding on the horses that went up and down was a big hit! We ended the day in the Playscape area which is a magical indoor playground/exploration center for kids. Micah spent a solid 90 minutes climbing around the climbing structure with no end in sight before we finally had to leave. We met Aunts Meredith and Caroline for dinner and a quick hangout at Meredith's apartment before we headed home. I heard "I want to go back to the museum!" until the boys fell asleep on the ride home!
On Saturday we took a day trip to Indianapolis to meet Grandma for a day at the Children's Museum. And boy did we have fun! Micah could have spent an entire day at each exhibit, so we had to encourage him to go see something else after he got time to try each thing (first he didn't want to leave the archaeological dig, then he didn't want to get off the train, and after that he wanted to stay on the flight simulator, and the day ended with him saying he was staying on the climbing structure forever, lol). It was really cool though, because a lot of stuff that we saw reinforced some of the books we have been reading at home so we were able to make connections with stuff he already knew. The flight simulator, for example, talked about balancing the four forces on a plane (thrust, drag, lift, and weight) when you design your plane so that it will fly. Micah has been really interested in flight lately so we had already been reading books about that at home, so he knew just how to build a plane to make it work. Of course after that he wanted to try all the "what if?" scenarios to see what would happen if he changed different aspects of the plane. I would have liked for him to be able to stay on there all day too!
