In the midst of all the holidays, Micah seems to have been absorbing tons of information, because he suddenly started counting in the last week. First it was to 3, then 6, and then over the last few days he has mastered counting to 10! He has also started "reading" portions of books to us using the pictures to cue him of the important words or phrases on the page. Of course his favorite thing to do now is to dictate our day to day activities for us. So when Matt gets up for work, he'll announce to us: "cof-cof (coffee)" and "shower" because these are the first two things Dad does every morning. Or for meals he'll announce we are going to "sit", "food", "mouth". Literally for every daily activity/routine he announces what we will be doing. It's pretty funny, and so great to feel like he is a part of everything and he really does know what to expect from our day.
In Baby news, Baby is due in 4 weeks (or maybe before!?). Baby has a heartbeat in the 130's/140's and is sitting quite low at this point. Unfortunately, I am told that the body remembers previous pregnancies and the aches/pains come a little sooner with subsequent pregnancies, so the lower back pain and just general feeling of being uncomfortable has already set in.... fun! At least it waited until after our holiday celebrations.... right? Micah is also getting a little more interested in the "big brother" thing and likes to read his books that Aunt Jen gave him on being a big brother and having a new baby. He also told me to "open" my stomach to get Baby out, lol. Matt and I are excited to see what his real reaction to having an actual baby will be!
