In developmental news, Ezra has started to fall into the eat, play, sleep cycle (rather than just the eat and sleep cycle of a newborn). He likes to lay on his back and bat toys around or kick his piano to make it play. He is not a fan of belly time and shows no interest in trying to roll yet. He does like to be talked to though! Micah has taken to ONLY playing with trucks and trains (guess we can clean out the playroom.... just kidding!) and mostly reads about trucks and trains too. And he likes to apply his reading to his play by quoting lines from his favorite books while playing. His trucks get stuck in the mud, just like "The Little Blue Truck" and his trains go "chug, chug, puff puff" from "The Little Engine that Could". His other favorite past-time is protesting naps by playing in his crib instead of sleeping. Of course, for Mom and Dad, listening to him talk to himself while playing is VERY entertaining. We get sung a lot of songs and hear a lot of Micah conversations through the monitor!
Well we've been home for about 10 days from all of our travels, and we've settled back into our home routine. The mornings are our big chunk of time to go do stuff, so I took the boys to the Discovery Museum one morning, we played in the snow one morning (well, Micah and I did), and we went out shopping another morning. And Micah got to go on a Daddy-Son adventure to the trampoline park on Daddy's day off! We also just stay home and play, which basically involves playing with trucks, tractors, and trains, whether you want to or not. Micah did give Ezra a check-up one day, and Ezra was a trooper for his shot ;) And when Daddy gets off work early, we go for hikes in the rain before the thunderstorms move in! Yesterday, we even got to host visitors from Indy, our friend Amber and her two kids came to see us! Ezra got excited to see someone else his size, and Micah was equally excited to have two babies to hug! Poor James didn't know what he was getting himself into! Of course the boys favorite part of the day seems to be when Daddy gets home (ok, let's be real, that's my favorite time too... back-up help!).
