We had already planned our vacation months in advance, but the crazy winter this year made us even more grateful to have planned a vacation to warm and sunny Arizona! We asked Nana and Grandad to tag along for their wonderful company, of course, but also so that we could have some built-in assistance/babysitters so we could enjoy some down time too! They drove out with a trailer so that they could haul most of the stuff and we just had to fly with the boys and get picked up by them at the other end. That sounded really easy in planning, but a 3.5 hour flight that got delayed due to lightning while we sat in the plane at 6 AM wasn't quite so simple, and the brutal 3 hour time change was an adjustment for days for the boys. But we made it safe and sound (if a little late) and got started enjoying the warm weather. We spent the morning of our arrival hiking around South Mountain Park outside of Phoenix to stretch and familiarize the boys with cacti (arguably Micah's favorite things to look at in AZ). We then drove up to Mayer, AZ to spend the night before spending the following day exploring the Mt. Union/Prescott area. We drove and then hiked up Mt. Union, visited Highlands Center for Natural History (cool nature play area), and hiked around Thumb Butte Recreation Area. One more night in Mayer and then we drove up to Sedona, AZ where we planned to spend the rest of the week.

What a fun time the boys are having. It looked like a very hot day.
