Another exciting addition to our house was the arrival (finally!) of our new Yoto player (thanks Great Grandma and Grandpa Rodgers for the Christmas money for this!). It's an awesome, kid-friendly audio player that you insert cards with pre-loaded material (books, music, podcasts even) into. The kids can adjust the volume and skip to different chapters in the books, but that's the extent of the buttons and the cards are super durable with the ability to even change the content on each card through an app that the parent has on their phone. The kids love the new freedom to control their own audio player and I love that I don't have to play music on my phone anymore. The player can travel with us in the car and can be used with headphones too. Roadtrips just got more enjoyable!
The end of February brought some warmer weather (yeah!) and the kids and I took advantage to get outside in the sun. We visited parks, walked and bicycled the neighborhood and surrounding areas, and of course played in our own backyard. The mornings are still pretty cold, as the temperatures at night drop significantly so the boys have been building with Lincoln logs, Tinker toys, and the Nugget and Pikler triangles until it warms up. Ruth continues to grow like a weed and is quiet the speedy crawler now. She absolutely loves to play with her brothers and they are really good about including her when they can. Ruth is also starting to eat more despite still being toothless; I guess those gums are getting better at chomping, lol. Her favorite foods are fruit (no surprise there, as that is all of my children's favorite foods) but she will try anything put in front of her still. As we move into March we are hitting some 70 degree weather in the afternoons; no jackets!. In an attempt to find some outdoorsy homeschooling families, I joined a Wild and Free group in Colorado Springs (it's a national group with local leaders in many cities and a podcast that I listen to) and we met up with them for the first time this week. It was a lot of fun (the kids played while the moms talked), and I even met a mom who had moved from Dayton this past summer too; we knew some of the same people even!

Ruth is a cutie for sure! And she is fortunate to have protective big brothers!

Thanks so much for keeping up such a wonderful blog. It enables those of us far away to enjoy the photos and read cute stories about the children as they grow.
