Ruth also turned 6 months old at the end of January! We celebrated by letting her try some solid food, which she seems pretty neutral about at the moment. Unlike Micah at this age, she does not chew food yet (Micah was chewing food as soon as he could get his hands on it). Instead, she sucks on whatever food she can and then spits the food back out that doesn't totally dissolve into her saliva. She is also still toothless, unlike both of her brothers who had teeth by this age, so that may also play a roll in her enthusiasm. Thus far, her favorites seem to be fruit, bread, and peanut butter, all of which work great for sucking out the sugar, lol.
The end of January brought some mild weather to our corner of Colorado, and we took full advantage by getting out and hiking of course! We spent one afternoon hiking to the old Fire Tower in Pueblo Mountain Park Though not too tall, you can see a good 27 miles back to our house from the top. Another afternoon that reached 70 degrees was spent in Red Rock Canyon in Colorado Springs hiking around an old quarry. The boys, of course, just loved climbing the rocks.
