Friday morning brought our now weekly doctor's appointment. Baby's heartbeat ranged between 138-142, which is normal, my blood pressure was normal, and we won't talk about weight ;) My doctor also examined me and found that I was 1 cm. dilated, 50% effaced, and baby is at -3 station. If you need a brush up on what all of that means, I found this website very helpful for a quick explanation: http://pregnancy.familyeducation.com/signs-and-stages-of-labor/slideshow/66291.html?page=1. But don't get too excited, as women can sit at the same measurements for weeks, so it doesn't really mean anything in terms of when Baby might come. In baby development news, Baby should be about 6 pounds and perhaps 18.5 inches long. Baby's main job now is just to beef up!
Saturday, Matt worked on a presentation for school, and I worked on grades for my students. However, we also took some time to play the Mom and Dad role and installed the car seats! We also finalized the hospital bag packing, and are now ready to rock and roll! Sunday, after our traditional church and grocery shopping, we went to a birthday party for Lorelei, one of our little one-year old friends. We're enjoying our party time now, before Baby arrives! To keep it up, Matt and I went out separately on Monday - Matt for a guy's hang-out, and me for a girl's hang-out. Dinner with friends, beer for the boys, sparkling cider for the girls (we're all pregnant, lol), and some nail polish did wonders for feeling slightly less like a balloon. The sunlight after we're off work does wonders for the mood too! Matt has been getting out for runs, and I've enjoyed getting to flood the house with some light. Only 4ish weeks left now until the real ray of sunlight makes his or her appearance!
