Monday was a very eventful day for the Rodgers family! First we had a mom and baby check-up. Baby's heartbeat looks good, Baby is still head down, and I'm still measuring right on target for my due date. Then a couple of hours later we attended our 2nd birthing class. We learned all about relaxation, breathing, massage, and different positions that may help ease the pain of labor. I think I'm going to enjoy the massage part of this! And of course Matt learned about his role as a birthing coach!
Moving to Baby Rodgers... Baby decided to be a bit of a stinker Thursday and Friday of last week and ram head and should into my hip bone for 48 hours straight. It was not a comfortable two days at work, nor did much sleep occur on Thursday night. Fortunately, Baby decided to straighten up for the weekend, much to my relief (I suppose Baby couldn't be a perfect baby forever). Baby is also probably getting a little more squished as Baby continues to grow. The fact that Baby's bottom continues to stick up and make my belly lopsided for portions of the day is another hint of this. In size, Baby should be about 4.5 pounds and a little over 17 inches long. Baby is receiving antibodies from me as Baby develops his or her immune system. Baby's bones (except for the skull) are also hardening to be ready for life outside of the uterus.
