On Sunday, we got some more quality time together watching the Super Bowl in front of the fire and enjoying hot pizza together on the couch. Of course the disappointing ending was a bit of a let down. Then on Monday, it was back to the doctor's for another Mom and Baby check-up. Now that I am past 30 weeks, Baby and I go every 2 weeks just to make sure everything is progressing well. And so far so good! We are both healthy, and Baby has a nice, strong heartbeat. Baby even kicked the doctor's hand that was holding the doppler ultrasound while she was listening to the heartbeat! I've noticed Baby is making a habit of kicking any hands resting on my belly, including my own; Baby with attitude! Anyway, I'm still measuring right on schedule as well, so early April is looking good!
As far as what is going on in the womb this week, Baby has grown some more I'm sure, but at this point Baby's sizes start to vary quite a bit; however, Baby should be about the size of a pineapple (maybe 17 inches long and 3.5 pounds?). Baby also has all five senses in good working order now, and is starting to sleep in the REM cycle more. This means that there are longer periods of no movement (while Baby is in a deep sleep) followed by defined periods of being awake. I can definitely start to feel the difference, because when Baby is up, I can feel almost every movement, and then everything will go quiet for a while before it starts again!
