Unfortunately, the time came all too soon to return to reality, and Matt and I made the long and snowy trek back to WI to begin work on Monday. My students are rather excited to be back together, and are equally excited about the promise of -30 degree temperatures this week so that they can miss school (-30, really??). Matt started his surgery rotation, and will be VERY busy working for the next two months. Baby Rodgers and I are going to miss him!
Baby is busy growing, growing, growing! Baby is now about 15 inches long, and weighs over 2 pounds! Apparently, at this stage of development, our little one has more taste buds than it will have even at birth, so Baby can easily detect differences in the amniotic fluid based on what I eat. Baby may even react to the different tastes, so I guess that means it's time to experiment with food! Baby is also showing brain activity, and if Baby takes after Daddy, there is probably lots of it ;) According to Dad, who has his nightly pow-wows with Baby after Mom is asleep, Baby is very active at night. Fortunately for Mom, I sleep right through it!
